Tantrum
Okay not quite a tantrum but a wee fling of one's toys from my pit
Why? in short, compared with most of the shown entries to the Photo Comp in the STHT (Soft Top HardTop)i actually believe mine in obviously better
I so rarely blow my own trumpet but.... but.... how on earth they decision-makers have come to such decisions i shall never know
P*ssed off from Powys

Who took out the Bins?
A few days ago the US military struck and killed Osama bin Laden - one of his sons also died in the attack.
This man has become something of figure-head for so much violence. Whether you be on the opposite side or on his side.
In his name many have killed and maimed. Lives have been destroyed.
Now that his life has ended will the violence he condoned, willed and orchestrated come to an end? highly unlikely. I can not be and am not happy about his end but then i am not unhappy. Strange mix, eh?
Man is Man's worst enemy.

Upheaval
11th March 2011.... one nasty bastard of an Earthquake cracked itself open
8.9 on the richter scale
Didn't actually happen on the Japanese mainland but created one Mother Lover of a tsunami
This descended upon the land of the rising sun at Sendei north of Tokyo
It has obliterated communities and there is an ongoing battle to cool down the Fukushima nuclear plant which naturally shut down thereby leaving the reactor to become very hot.
It's almost 4 weeks since the devastation and the people of Japan have still a lonnnnng way to go.
I wish them all the look in the world.
Having rid myself(by fortune rather than design) of the biggest hea-screwer i ahve had the misfortune to encounter in my life the aforementioned pyschobitch attempted to make contact with me via email on 18th March.
You've not attempted to contact me for 11 months (thankfully) and you now expect me to accept your pathetic attempt? fkov - the mail has been deleted. I have no wish to know what is in your fkd up head now please leave me alone.
You mean nothing to me
That is all i ahve to say for now

My Freedom
Having worked 22 years for the NHS i had bought pretty sensible cars
Fun as well but still sensible
Enjoyed driving them and endeavoured not to do anything too daft whilst out and about
Now, i am having fun in a slightly less sensible but still not silly motor
I am being penalised left, right and centre.
Penalised for being a motorist and penalised for working in the public sector and for living in a rural area.
Whilst i appreciate the need for belt-tightening i am still p*ssed off that most of my pay-rises have, to use a political term, in real terms had pay decreases
Fkg angry - dismayed - aghast - bemused
Sod it!
She's my freedom and i will drive her
Oh and when out and about i will urinate in public.(behind trees, bushes, my wee motor)
You will not charge me for whatever offence when you are closing public conveniences all over the place.
You can not charge in one breath but fail to provide in the other
Three cheers to the peaceful protest marchers at the w/e
Yaboosucks to the vandals* - and those who threw bottles and sprayed graffiti
* for vandals read government.
People who wreck society
Done
^^^ in whom i still retain a sense of freedom

Rendez-Vous Claerwen
25th March 2011.... friday midday
welsh birds and mazdas go out in the midday sun
Spring.... not even the end of the month but it was hot hot hot
Today, bleedin' chilly!
So, i loitered about the benches by the hairpin and, eventually, a newbie to the world of 5s appeared in his Sunlight Silver mk3 ~ just like Snowy
familiar haunt
the Claerwen Dam looms large in the background
from the dam looking down

MiXing it up - history and beach bum
On the happier (if expensive) side of life for me.
Get car keys and drive. Wherever possible, drop top. Get some fresh air.
Go out. See the countryside. Experience the roads of Britain and burn off some of that uber uber uber expensive stuff they call petrol.
A gold car would cost less to buy!
STORM on the beach - Ynys-Las
So, with my good pal and her beloved Eric and i and my wee Storm we took a trip out to do some historical site-seeing.
Hello Goodrich Castle ~ situated between Monmouth and Ross
Storm and Eric parked up at Goodrich Castle's cp.
~ a dark self-portrait and someone lurking in the background ~
Monmouth
The cars with Monnow Bridge illuminated in the background
Footnote: Ali is good for my constitution
Thank you, my friend

The World At Large
It's been a tough start for the world in 2011 and leading in to the year
Australia's had floods and fires.
Christchurch, New Zealand had a fairly nasty earthquake that took lives
The latest is the illustration above.
The final figures are not in and won't be for quite some time.
Even now, the gestimate of 10,000 people lost from the earthquake that measured 8.9 that triggered the massive tsunami that landed on Japanese shores early on friday 10th March may be a conservative figure.
The city of Sendai has pretty much been ripped from Japanese life and other areas in that north-eastern corner of the elongated nation.
It has a population of over 127 million. More than double the UK.
It is bigger than Germany, Malaysia, New Zealand and the U.K. all put together.
I always thought it to be a little bigger than the UK. How wrong was i?- much.
My thoughts go to the people of Japan at this time and, likewise, to those who have family and friends over there - whether they be working or holidaying.

Happy New Year
Wow! it's been ages. I'd forgotten about this for a time. Dead laptops lose Bookmarks... well, that's my excuse.
So, got thro' end of the Summer. Traversed Autumn and landed in a very cold Winter.
-18C!..... Brrrr!
Craig Coch - top dam - Elan Valley on 11th Jan 2011
All dams are overflowing at the moment.
This is small potatoes when compared with Queensland that is having mass flooding including Brisbane as the Brisbane river has burst it's banks
Also, Il Nina is also affecting Brazil where nearly 500 people have died in the floods
