Who shall win?
The game is early sunday evening.

Thank goodness for cricket

Otherwise English sport would be in the doldrums.
Sorry England football fans but the team were shit in South Africa
Well done to the ODI side who've taken the series vs Australia.
Two more to play. Three won.
And then.... the ASHES! Eeek!

On the matter muttered previously... wrong person would be unfair. Right person... lovely person... just not...well.... :::sigh:::::

A Blessed Release

My greatest release is the car but there are times when a listening ear is required and a few wise words in return.
And sometimes just letting it all out helps refresh the soul. A little like refreshing a page on the internet.
I said i wouldn't go on about the liar but maybe i should ~ for me rather than anyone else.

I really wanted to believe so much in Mabel (name changed to protect the not-so-innocent) but after all the hurt and anger i have felt especially in recent months i found that the tears i shed the other day were actually for her. This person, Mabel, has so much going for her yet it's as tho' being nice allows her to be shitty otherwise.

I am so disappointed in her. So saddened by her actions. So confused by her deceit, her divisiveness and her utter contempt for those who stood by her during some of her shit times.
Sadly, for those not in this town, her lies will continue. There is a rumour that her next 'victim' has already thrown in the towel but there is no hard and fast proof of that.

Upon her exit from this workplace we bought something we thought (admittedly, guided by me) she would like. We arrived at work to bid her farewell and good luck in her new place only for her to completely and utterly disrespect us and the whole gesture.

I still cry for her and it will be a while before i cease but i hope i will find some peace and be able to drawn a line under the whole sordid 'affair'.

There is nothing like taking a higher moral ground whilst manipulating and doing exactly that which you have accused others of doing.

When you move you do not leave your issues behind you take them with you.
Mabel ~ you need therapy. Big time.
Of course, the biggest lie from you is to you. Whilst you continue to lie to yourself you will never be free of the monkey on your back.
For me, i am slowly expunging and exorcising the monkey that you left on mine.
Even if it does cost me £50 for each hour that i need to embrace.

I do say and mean good luck.
I hope i may be able to move on in my life and give me the attention i deserve.

-and let's hope i am not barking up the wrong tree ~

Catch Up

I could use this blog to do many things. I'm sure it would be therapeutic but slating someone for being a liar will do no good otherwise so i shall stick with the happier side of life ~ mostly.

We had quite a winter. A proper winter, in fact. It's no good moaning. Yes it did last a bit long but there's nowt we can do about it so let's just get on and take it and embrace the good side that it brings.
We've had an amazing spring and my face glows regularly having caught the sun. I've already used some sunscreen. that is very early in the season tho' there is advice to be had now that says that it should be worn during the cooler months of the year as well.

So the thing that has caused the most jaw-ache from grinning so much is being out in the car with others who own the same model (various MKs.)

On the last sunday in March (on a liar's birthday as it happens) 10 mx5s and 13 people collected at Knighton Community Centre car park and were then led off by me[thev trusted me... wow!]
The route included Beguildy - Llaithdu - Bwlch y Sarnau - Pant y Dwr - Tylwch - Llanidloes - Clwyedog Dam - Machynlleth - Aberystwyth - Devils' Bridge(Pontarfynach) - Cwm Ystwyth - Elan Valley Visitor's Centre .... and farewells across the A44 running east.

It had been a very long day. Less for me since the start point was home and some people didn't home until pretty late in to the evening.
*******************************************

The days were extending and the sun was shining gloriously so earlier this month on a grey start to a 12th - a monday morning i met up with Ali and her Arizona, Eric, in Leominster.
Despite slower traffic here and there we had a great run.
Down the A49 to Hereford. Across to Credenhill and up to Lyonshall - Kington - Crossgates - Rhayader - Elan Valley (dams and upper valley) - down the A470 before hanging a left towards Llanyre - Crossgates (lunch) - A488 Monaughty - Presteigne - Shobdon (airfield) - Mortimer's Cross - Lucton - Richard's Castle - finishing outside Ludlow Castle

I finally had a run out with the official owner's club - South West Midlands group - who had arranged to drive to and tour Abbey Cwm Hir Hall
52 rooms of amazing splendour that changes thro' the seasons and every room is decorated for christmas.
The time and effort put in to this place is really extraordinary.

Some of what mid Wales has to offer

Roads with a snowy outlook

Wye valley mountain road leading to heads of the Ystwyth and Elan valleys

I didn't travel down the last one. I saw it and had already snaked my car to that point. I turned about and made the most of a lay-by to take some photos. It was snowing.

This was yesterday about midday.

One Flu Over The Cuckoo's Nest

Having had a whole heap of colds over the years kicking off this year with some form of influenze reminded me of the difference between the two.
I'm pretty sure it wasn't swine flu only that it was flu. I know there were moments of delirium. I swear i came up a shot hop from hallicinating on a couple of occasions.
I woke on 7th Jan with some aches.
With the way the weather had been i assumed my muscles were complaining that they weren't used to being put through their paces. Getting the car ot in the weather was a no-no so i was walking. Ok, fair enough. Tho wandering home in the chill of -10C at 0300 didn't make me feel none too good.
I had the 8th off and returned to a day shift on saturday 9th. The ache was no different. maybe slightly worse. I did think about it being viral but it not being a lot worse made me doubt it.
I fell in to bed that evening but rose to respond to a text. Whilst stood writing a reply i had an overwhelming sense of nausea and light-headedness.
I left the alarm to wake me just before 6 but knew that the night's wave of general bleargh was an indication of what had to be done. This was not going to help station. 1 on the bird and 3 of us on station.
I capitulated. Enough was enough.
I continued dosing up with paracetemol.
I hadn't felt this shit in a long time. Yes it compares poorly with the state of the people of Haiti. That was one nasty earthquake that has thrown their caribbean nation in to a state of confusion. I hope the aid they need so badly gets to the right people and quickly.
Anyhow, their atrocious situation didn't make me feel any better.
I thought back then that i'd be back at work by today. Ha! the aching didn't stop for a week. I was left with a terrible malaise and lethargy. That is now easing.
I managed to get out in the car. It was what was needed. Sadly, i had a large crack in my windscreen so that needs to be done in the next day or so. It's a waiting game for now.

Cold but often dry

High pressure to the west of the UK will maintain the northerly winds and intense cold for much of this period.

Some further snow showers can be expected, again mainly in northern and eastern areas but many inland areas are likely to remain mostly dry, with the best sunshine towards the west.

Right now - we have glorious sunshine. I can't get out to see what's it like elsewhere - in so much that my beautiful car does not wish to ride out over the compacted snow that sits outside the house. Fair enough. It's beautiful from here.
